Jan Wijn works for Hollands Noorderkwartier, the Water Board responsible for sustainable water management in polder landscapes (i.e. above the North Sea canal) in the province 'Noord-Holland' of the Netherlands.
Hollands Noorderkwartier is concerned with safeguarding consistent water quality, protecting polders and villages against flooding, and promoting a common understanding of water management issues.
"International projects are part of my remit. A while ago I was asked to go to Hungary at short notice and give several presentations and workshops," says Jan.
In his search for a suitable language school, a colleague recommended that he should talk to PCI. The challenge was then for PCI to find an English teacher with a good knowledge of water management issues.
"Well, fortunately PCI found me one and in a very short time he managed to bring my English up to a level where I could deliver a presentation in English with confidence, use the necessary technical terms and actively participate in discussions."
