Relocating with her husband from London to the Netherlands four years ago meant getting used to another culture and language for Miriam Cotterell. Therefore, she decided to take private lessons and picked a course that had been arranged through the metal company Corus, where her husband John Cotterell works as an HR manager. "I thought the Dutch course was great, and the tutor that PCI had sent me was wonderful," says Miriam. When she asked for the course, she said she wanted something extremely flexible as her work is what she calls quite hectic. Not only is Miriam an actress, she also has her own production company, Minor Miracle Production. "I decided to take private lessons twice a week, whenever I could, and it has worked out really well," Miriam explains. "Whenever I needed to change days or times, my tutor understood that and we'd work out something that would suit us both. The quality of the teaching was very good, I could work at my own pace, and I've never felt any pressure. In fact, I even managed to enjoy it! From a linguistic viewpoint, I'm now able to understand a little better what goes on around me, and I feel much more integrated in society."
